The problem
One move changes a light and its orthogonal neighbours. Turning every light off is easy to understand and surprisingly difficult to plan. Darkenn turns that tension into a focused logic-puzzle experience.
My role
Independent product builder using AI-assisted development. I brought together puzzle rules, a mathematical solver, and a minimal interaction design.
Approach
Binary light states can be represented as a linear system over GF(2), where toggles behave like XOR operations. The live product explains its minimum-move solver and offers 3×3 through 7×7 grids with multiple difficulty levels.
Current status
The public product includes casual play, a daily challenge, hints in casual mode, and a global leaderboard. Daily rankings use an official server-computed score, with moves and time as tie-breakers.
Constraints
Hints help learning, while competitive challenges need consistent rules. The daily experience disables hints and begins the timer on reveal. Public-interface verification supports these feature descriptions; it does not constitute a backend security audit.
