Context
A spreadsheet experiment compared the first appearance of two three-flip patterns. The browser recreation makes the same mechanics inspectable without requiring a workbook.
My role
Independent spreadsheet experiment and product exploration in probability and simulation.
Approach
Choose two three-symbol H/T patterns, generate five independent series of 100 coin flips, and compare each pattern’s first occurrence within each series. An earlier occurrence wins the round; equal positions are a draw. Five rounds determine the overall winner.
Results
The interactive recreation displays all five sequences, match positions, per-round winners, and the overall result. It runs entirely in the browser and can be repeated.
Limitations
This reproduces the supplied spreadsheet’s five-series mechanics, rather than claiming to implement every canonical Penney’s Game variant. A missing pattern is recorded as not found and loses to an observed pattern; two missing patterns draw. Random trial results are not a probability proof.
